Gerding Edlen Completes Succession Plan, Investment Management Arm Goes Green

Portland-based Gerding Edlen Development (GED) phased out the Gerding Edlen name and formed Edlen & Company. Mark Edlen and former GED business partners, Roger Krage, Jill Sherman and Matt Edlen plan to build on and evolve the GED legacy and leadership, developing landmark communities that pioneered sustainable living.

Edlen & Company will focus on affordability and social equity, while scaling the boundaries of sustainable development. The investment management arm of Gerding Edlen has been rebranded the Green Cities Co., while Equilibrium, a leader in sustainability investments, will continue as a partner with Edlen & Company.

The company will target projects within the Pacific Northwest and Inter-Mountain regions. The new group of company owners will look to expand upon the founding partners legacy of creating opportunities in the communities in which they are invested, including the Portland Metro, Spokane, Salt Lake City and Boise.
