Georgetown Scores a Lowe’s
It’s not a difficult proposition. Retail goes to where the people are. And it seems like everyone is going to Georgetown, the country’s fastest-growing town. Lowe’s, the home improvement company, will open its new Austin-area store in the first quarter of 2025.
Lowe’s chief competitor, Home Depot, has a store about four miles away from the new Lowe’s store. Lowe’s plans to spend $14 million on its newest store. The new store will be across the highway from CelLink Corp.’s manufacturing facility and just north of Costco Wholesale Corp.
The Atlanta Business Journal reports the store will have an additional 23,000 square feet dedicated to its garden center. There will be a rental center for commercial-grade tools and equipment, a feature the company recently added to some stores.
Lowe’s is based in Mooresville, North Carolina. The company has nearly 1,800 stores in the US and Canada
