Gensler, Mortenson Complete UW’s 36K-SF Basketball Facility

Gensler, in partnership with the University of Washington, Mortenson, and other project partners, has completed UW’s new 36,000-square-foot Women’s and Men’s Intercollegiate Athletics Basketball Training Facility.

“Gensler is thrilled to celebrate the completion of the UW Basketball Training Practice Facility—a project that embodies our deep commitment to elevating both women’s and men’s athletics,” said Francesly Sierra, Project Manager at Gensler.

The state-of-the-art basketball center features two 9,800-square-foot practice courts. The fully donor-funded, $60 million project was backed by over $1 million from Husky basketball legends and alumni. The new facility links the floor level of Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion with the Graves Annex Strength and Conditioning space.

“This project represents the very best of what can be achieved when collaboration, innovation, and purpose come together,” said Jennifer Kim, Project Executive at Mortenson.
