Generating Measurements with AR

Augmented reality (AR) has been creeping into real estate business application. One such recent app is the PLNAR App, which allows you to virtually measure your room, without tape measurers or other similar equipment. The app, developed by Austin, TX-based SmartPicture Technologies, was built with Apple’s ARKit, and is available for the iOS 11 platform.

To generate measurements and other calculations, users simply mark the outline of a room (taken with a real-world camera) designate structures (such as doors or windows), then generate a comprehensive digital report. In addition to calculations and measurements, the user will have access to calculations and visuals.

The distributor of PLNAR indicated that the AR would be beneficial to realtors, home buyers and sellers, as well as contractors – basically, anyone who needs to know the size of a room for remodeling or sales purposes.

iPhone users can obtain the app at the iTunes App Store.
