GATX Relocating HQ to Chicago’s Willis Tower
GATX Corporation plans to relocate its headquarters to Chicago’s 110-story Willis Tower in a long-term office lease commitment encompassing roughly 90,000 square feet. Blackstone, which acquired Willis Tower in 2015, announced a $500-million renovation earlier this year in conjunction with Equity Office, its wholly-owned U.S. office portfolio company.
“The move to Willis Tower and accompanying office re-design will give our employees access to highly efficient space, advanced office technology, more natural light and outstanding building amenities, among other benefits,” said GATX Corporation’s Brian Kenney.
The redesign of the 3.8-million-square-foot building at 233 S. Wacker Dr. includes exclusive tenant-only office amenities. They include a planned Altitude Lounge on floors 66 and 67, Tone, a 30,000-square-foot full-service fitness center on the 33rd floor, as well as Tower House, an expansive tenant lounge and casual café.
NKF’s Melissa Copley represented the tenant. Telos’ Joy Jordan, Jamey Dix, and Brian Whiting represented the landlord.
