Gateway at Millbrae Station to Establish Vital Transit-Oriented Destination

Republic Urban Properties’ 17-acre Gateway at Millbrae Station is conceived as a miniature city next to a public transit station in Millbrae, CA. The 500,000-square-foot mixed-use hub at 200 Rollins Rd. comprises offices, hotel, retail and apartments.

Republic Urban Properties’ Michael Van Every says, “The Gateway project represents transit-oriented development at its very best. This will be a destination where people can live, shop, work, and play, with walkable streets, public spaces, and amenities.” He adds, the combination of elements, including nearby transit options, “establishes a real authenticity that will have a positive impact on life in the Bay Area at large.”

Anchoring the development is a contemporary office building designed by San Francisco-based Form4 Architecture. This 165,000-square-foot structure, activated with retail at its base, is situated next to the Bay Area’s largest BART station.

The project received unanimous approval by city and local authorities, and is expected to begin construction in late 2019 and deliver in 2021.
