Garland Expected to OK $60M Data Center
Digital Realty is planning a 178,000 square feet core and shell data center on 18 acres at 1505 Ferris Road. It’s just one of four phases in the companies plans to continue its aggressive buildout of Texas data centers. Digital Realty currently has 13 data centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area around Carrollton, Richardson and Dallas. It also owns one each in Houston and Austin. It also operates a campus in Lewisville, where it filed to build another facility.
The first phase of their newest center will use 4 MW of power and future phases 6 MW. The company aims to invest $59.4 million on the project, which is due to run from February 2023 to August 2024.
The company needs a final okay from Garland’s City Council during its December 6th meeting. The planning commission has approved it and staff recommends approval of the project
