Gap Has a New HQ Roommate: Old Navy

Old Navy is moving its employees out of the Gap Inc. division’s separate headquarters in Mission Bay and into its parent company’s headquarter buildings along the Embarcadero. This announcement is indicative of the shuffling of office space happening within many San Francisco corporate headquarters in light of changing work dynamics.

This comes on the heels of Salesforce announcing Work From Anywhere – a new strategy that reimagines how work is done – whether in-person or in the cloud. As part of this strategy, Salesforce will change the way it works, giving employees more flexibility in how, when and where they work. Salesforce expects more than 65% of its workforce to be working a flex or fully remote schedule.

This move offers greater equality with a strategy that will enable Salesforce to use untapped talent from new communities and geographies. It also reimagines spaces as community hubs with more collaboration and breakout areas to foster the human connection that can’t be replicated remotely, the company says.

And finally, it prioritizes health and safety, leveraging products – including Vaccine Cloud – to work through the global vaccine management plan.
