Industrial developer Wonderful Real Estate Development has pre-leased a facility under construction within the Wonderful Industrial Park (WIP) in Shafter, CA. Building Materials Manufacturing Corporation, which does business as GAF, will expand its current footprint of 118,000 square feet by 310,000 square feet when the building is completed at the Central Valley complex. Financial terms associated with the lease expansion were not disclosed.

Known for its roofing materials manufacturing, GAF intends to operate both facilities concurrently to support its growing West Coast operations. “Driven largely by our proximity to the Los Angeles Basin and a customer base comprised of million of people for a wide variety of industry, we continue to experience good activity for Wonderful Industrial Park real estate and GAF’s expansion within the park exemplifies these ongoing trends,” said Joe Vargas, SIOR, and President of Wonderful Real Estate Development.

The new building (pictured) will feature 36’ clear height, 57 dock-high doors, 2 grade-level doors and parking for 154 autos and 64 trailers. Other large occupiers at WIP include Amazon, Ross Stores, Target, Walmart, Staples and Formica.
