Fulton Market Offices Go on the Block Following Kimberly-Clark Deal
A joint venture of Chicago-based Domus Group and Northbrook, IL-based Barnett Capital has hired the Chicago office of Stan Johnson to sell 1133-1155 W. Fulton Market, Crain’s Chicago Business reported. The JV last month brought Kimberly-Clark to the 97,302-square-foot Fulton Market District property, where the consumer products giant will house its North American commercial center.
There is no asking price for the four-story building. Sources familiar with the offering told Crain’s it’s expected to fetch bids of close to $70 million, or at least $700 per square foot.
A sale at that price would net a big windfall for Domus and Barnett, which paid $19.5 million in February 2019 for the former industrial building, according to property records. They set out with a plan to turn it into a loft office building as a parade of companies were paying high rents to set up corporate offices in Fulton Market.
