Flordia team to build condos/hotel/restaurants along Ft. Lauderdale beach

Ft. Lauderdale Developer to Build High-Rise Condos/ Hotel

A hodgepodge grouping of Fort Lauderdale motels, shops and bars is expected to give way to 500 condos, 373 hotel rooms, 23,634 square feet of retail/restaurant space, 10,465 square feet of outdoor dining and 1,323 parking spaces. The South Florida Business Journal reports the condos, called Las Olas Ocean, would be divided between two towers of 29 stories each, which would be set back west of the beach closer to A1A. All of the hotel rooms would be in the two eight-story parking garages.

Closer to the beach, the parking structure would gradually come down in height like a staircase, until it’s only one story along the sidewalk closest to the sand. They hope to receive an okay from the local planning board this week.

In all, the venture between property owners Aiton Yaari and Lior Avidor, will span 4.35 acres.

The retail and restaurant space would be positioned facing the beach, and an internal paseo pedestrian path would lead from the beach into the project and through to A1A.
