Frontier Airlines Will Resume Midway Airport Service
Frontier Airlines, which ceased flying out of Midway Airport in 2015, will resume service from the South Side facility in April. Flights from Midway initially will cover Atlanta; Dallas; Denver, Las Vegas; Ontario, CA; Phoenix; Tampa; and Trenton, with service to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale following in October.
The airline also will launch service from William P. Hobby Airport in Houston in May. Frontier’s new Midway and Hobby routes will complement its existing service from O’Hare in Chicago and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
“We’re excited to strengthen our position in two of the five largest metro areas in the country with 13 new routes and two additional airport options for our customers flying to or from Chicago or Houston,” said Daniel Shurz, SVP of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “This strategic announcement situates Frontier to capture strong existing demand and stimulate new traffic with affordable fares and convenient service.”
