Frisco chosen for 97-acre Universal theme park

Frisco Lands Universal Theme Park

Universal Parks & Resorts selected the city of Frisco, in North Texas, as the area for its new concept, citing the city’s growing population and ability to attract businesses to the area. The proposed location for the new concept is situated east of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway. Part of 97 acres of land recently purchased by the company, the proposed park also has plans for an adjacent themed 300-key hotel and room for expansion.

The scaled-down park is expected to be a one-day or two-day experience. It will include family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, character meet and greets, unique merchandise and fun food and beverage venues.

The latest Universal Parks & Resorts attraction will be built near the 2,500-acre Fields development, which includes plans for roughly 10,000 homes, the headquarters of the PGA, a golf course and a $500 million Omni resort hotel.
