Friedman Real Estate Completes Transition, Onboarding of 1.2M-SF Illinois Commercial Portfolio

Friedman Real Estate announced the successful onboarding and transition of a 1.2 million-square-foot portfolio of retail, office, and industrial properties throughout Illinois during the first half of 2026.

This includes 290,000 square feet on Michigan Avenue, as well as properties in suburbs like Highland Park, Northbrook, Evanston, and Downer’s Grove. The successful Illinois portfolio transition further strengthens Friedman’s growing presence throughout key Midwest markets, including Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The comprehensive transition included onboarding multiple assets, implementing operational and financial reporting systems, coordinating with vendors, communicating with tenants, conducting compliance reviews, and establishing property-specific management strategies to enhance asset performance and support long-term ownership objectives.

“Our growth throughout Illinois and the broader Midwest reflects a simple philosophy: deliver results, provide responsive service, and act as a true partner to our clients,” said Karin Meier, Senior Managing Director of Friedman Real Estate Commercial Management and Facilities.
