Fresh Market Expands Metro DC Presence with Two New Locations

Speciality food retailer The Fresh Market, Inc. is expanding within the metro Washington, DC market.  Earlier this month, the Greensboro-based retailer committed to anchor two upscale mix-used developments in Virginia: Reston Station in Reston and West Falls in Falls Church.

These locations will join two other existing DC metro stores, in Alexandria and Vienna, VA. Both new stores are expected to open within the next three years.

At Comstock’s Reston Station, The Fresh Market will occupy approximately 27,000 square feet on the ground floor. “We are excited to announce The Fresh Market, a specialty food retailer, as the anchor of Midline at Reston Station and welcome them to the neighborhood, with appreciation for the contributions of Dimitri Georgelakos and Michael Patz of KLNB,” said Tim Steffan, COO of Comstock.

The Fresh Market’s new store at West Falls will also occupy approximately 29,000 square feet on the ground floor of future residential space. “The Fresh Market’s commitment to fostering local connections and bringing people together aligns perfectly with our vision for West Falls, and we look forward to welcoming them to the neighborhood,” said Jon McAvoy, CIO at Hoffman & Associates.
