Four-Story Apartment Complex Opens Near Seattle University

Great Expectations, a real estate firm focused on the development and acquisition of low-income and workforce housing, recently completed its Betula House apartment building near Seattle University and Swedish Cherry Hill, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Rush Construction was the general contractor. Hybrid Architecture designed the project. Arboreal, a brand related to Great Expectations with construction and apartment management arms, will be the property management company.

The four-story, 25,000-square-foot development at 355 15th Ave. in Seattle has 50 units, 36 of which are 270-square-foot small efficiency dwelling units.  The building also offers several 446-square-foot one-bedroom units as well as two-bedroom units.

The building was nearly 100% pre-leased before it opened. Its current resident mix includes healthcare workers, young professionals, and students. Work on the development broke ground in November 2021 after Great Expectations acquired the site for $2.7 million in December 2020.
