Swift Building

Former Montrose Meat Packing Plant, Theater Converting to Offices, Retail

The former Swift and Co. meatpacking building, over 50 years old, is set to be transformed into a 4.47-acre mixed-use development over the next year. Developer Radom Capital is spearheading the project, along with the redevelopment of another famed Houston building, the Tower Theatre in Montrose, and its adjacent shopping center along Westheimer Road.

Community Impact reports Radom Capital and Triten Real Estate Partners will transform the former Swift & Co. Building into a 4.47-acre mixed-use development with restaurants, offices and retail. Radom Capital is also redeveloping four buildings on Westheimer Road, including the former historic 1930s Tower Theatre, which will be transformed into a new jazz supper club.

Construction started on the 1111 Westheimer development in 2024 and was completed in early 2025. Tenants will begin opening over the next eight months. The Swift Building will break ground this spring and be open to the public by the spring of 2026.
