Trammell Crow Residential Plans Multifamily Project at Former Glendale Sears Site

Former Glendale Sears Site Slated for Multifamily Project

Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) has unwrapped plans for a 682-unit apartment complex on the former Sears site located on California and Central Avenues in Glendale, CA. The proposed project would cover about 4.5 acres on the property owned by Merlone Geier Partners. According to Urbanize Los Angeles, the development would also include a 38,000-square-foot public park.

TCR is planning a pair of eight-story buildings comprised of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including 17 live/work units. The modern podium-type buildings would also include a below-grade parking garage and open space areas at street level along with a mid-block plaza.

The Glendale City Council will discuss the preliminary design at a December 6th special meeting, although no final decision is expected. AC Martin and EPT Design are the architects for the project and 15% of the units will be set aside as very low-income affordable housing.
