A 48-acre Cypress area property with freeway frontage will soon be back on the market, and when it does, the former Hot Wells Shooting Range site will have a new asking price of $7 million. That’s down from the $8.5 million price it was originally listed at. The Houston Business Journal reports the listing was pulled after a dispute arose between the property’s owners and Harris County over access to the site.
Compass’ ranch and land division is handling the listing. Kathy McKinney of Compass’ said the property has many potential uses. “The land could be ideal for single or multifamily development, commercial development, or even recreational development as in the past,” McKinney said last year. Years back, the two-story Houston Hot Well Hotel & Sanitarium was capable of housing 500 guests.
The site is situated along U.S. Highway 290 between Barker Cypress Road and Fry Road. Within its borders are three lakes and an artesian spring.
