Former Charter School Site in Roxbury Will House Islamic Center

Barrie Naji with Coldwell Banker Realty Sharon-Canton Regional Office and founder of Barrie Sells Boston/Global Lux Collective, represented a nonprofit organization, Malik Academy, in acquiring a property that will soon serve as Blackstone Islamic Education Collaborative, an Islamic School and Community Center for families in the Greater Boston area. The transaction closed at $3,888,500, with Avison Young representing the seller.

The acquisition of the former City On A Hill Charter School, located at 58 Circuit St. in Roxbury, brought together a range of public, private, and business partners through complex negotiations, rigorous due diligence and tailored financing solutions by UIF Corporation, according to Naji. The new facility will provide a home for education, youth programs and community gatherings.

“This was more than a real estate transaction,” said Naji. “It was about helping a community find a permanent home where faith, education, and service can grow together.”
