Endeavor hopes to build Austin mixed-use project at old Borden Milk plant

Former Austin Dairy Plant Proposed Site for Major Mixed-Use Project

Endeavor Real Estate is hoping to persuade the Austin Planning Commission to grant their zoning request for an ambitious mixed-use project in East Austin. The rezoning request centers on a 21-acre site, just off the Colorado River, now home to a Borden Dairy Co. plant.

Community Impact reports that the rezoning would pave the way for one of East Austin’s tallest and densest mixed-use additions to date, over some neighborhood concerns about a potential standard for new development along the Colorado River and on the east side overall.

As currently proposed, the new project would feature 1,400 housing units, a 220-room hotel, 411,000 square feet of office space, a 66,000-square-foot restaurant and 40,000 square feet of retail space.

The Borden redevelopment could reach up to 120 feet high under conditions approved by the Planning Commission at a recent meeting.

Endeavor Real Estate Group is no stranger to Austin. They’re the firm behind other large-scale projects in Austin including 305 South Congress.
