Foothill Gold Light Rail Line Nearly Two-Thirds Complete

Foothill Gold Light Rail Line Nearly Two-Thirds Complete

The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority has announced the 9.1 mile light rail project from Glendora to Pomona is now two-thirds complete, and remains on schedule for an early 2025 delivery. When completed, the extension will add stations in Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Claremont and Montclair.

“2022 was a successful and memorable year for the Construction Authority and the next segment of the Foothill Gold Line,” said Board Chairman and Claremont Mayor Ed Reece. “The vision of making light rail service available for more of the San Gabriel Valley is drawing even closer.”

Accomplishments in 2022 included completing reconstruction of 20 at-grade crossings, completing construction of 18 renovated bridges, installing six power substations and starting work on all four new stations. In 2023, the Construction Authority and the KPJV design-build team anticipate completing nearly all major construction activities for the project, and begin testing the system by year’s end.
