Fluor trying to convert Irving HQ to residences

Fluor to Spin Off Property Next to HQ

Fluor Corporation has been at its Irving Texas headquarters, with acres of open space around it, since 2005. Now the company says it is under contract to sell land adjacent to its headquarters, for a potential housing project.

The Irving Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a change to the comprehensive plan at its September 1st meeting, to change the zoning adjoining the headquarters, to residential, single family homes. Alexander Hunt Distinctive Homes applying for the change in front of the commission.

The office sits on 22 acres at 6700 Los Colinas Blvd. It’s across the street from a new subdivision.

Fluor is a worldwide engineering and construction company. From the Buddha Tower in the 1920s to the trans-Alaska Pipeline in the 1970s to the current Gordie Howe International Bridge, Fluor has been a leader in engineering, procurement, and construction.
