Five-Story Hotel Proposed Near City Hall

Early plans for a new hotel, now undergoing “preliminary feasibility analysis”, could lead to a five-story, 158-room property near San Francisco City Hall. The proposed Civic Center project, at 465 Grove St., would be one of the city’s largest north of Market St., and involves demolishing an existing Days Inn.

Public records show Chirag Investment Co. is the owner of the property. The project applicant, Russell Naylor, principal of architecture firm NC2 Studio, says it’s undetermined at this time if the project will move forward.

If approved, the project would reportedly add 43,547 square feet of additional hotel space and 1,000 square feet of additional retail space. The underground parking remains unchanged at 33 spots.
