Five Restaurants Close Their Doors in OC

As leases expire, two popular chains, The Original Tommy’s in La Habra and Original Pancake House in Yorba Linda, are closing their doors after serving Orange County residents and tourists for a combined 62 years.

The Original Tommy’s, located on Imperial Highway and Beach Boulevard, had a 30-year run, but a new landlord, Northgate Market, is now bringing its Hispanic market there in its place. Tommy’s, famous for its chili-slathered burgers, is planning a new restaurant in a nearby La Habra location.

At the Town Center, where Original Pancake House has held a month-to-month lease for 32 years, the city sold the property to Zelman Retail Partners, who plans to renovate the property into a dining and retail hub with plans for Bristol Farms and a luxury movie theatre.

Additional recent restaurant closures in Orange County include Coco’s in Fullerton, Sarducci’s in San Juan Capistrano, and Baja Fresh at the Oak Creek Shopping Center in Irvine.
