Fisker Automotive Hitting Riverside County

Fisker Automotive has signed a $30 million lease in Moreno Valley, where it will build its plug-in electric hybrid vehicles.

The company signed a 556,000-square-foot lease in a First Industrial Real Estate Trust-owned building, in a deal brokered by Colliers International.

After having financial problems a couple of years ago, Fisker, which made vehicles under the nameplate Karma, was purchased by the China-based Wanxiang Group.

The new manufacturing plant is expected to create about 150 jobs in Moreno Valley.
