Fisher Investments abruptly moves from Wash. state to Plano

Fisher Investments Gives Washington State Dig on Way to New Plano HQ

In what might be considered one of the briefest, and most searing attacks on a former home state, Fisher Investments announced in a press release it is immediately relocating its headquarters to Plano. Here it is, “In honor of the Washington State Supreme Court’s wisdom and knowledge of the law, and in recognition of whatever it may do next, Fisher Investments is immediately moving its headquarters from Washington State to Texas.”

The move was made in response to a Washington State Supreme Court Friday ruling that a capital gains tax is constitutional. Fisher has 1,800 employees at its Camas, Washington offices. It’s not clear how many will make the move to Plano. CEO Ken Fisher and 1,200 other employees already call the Dallas suburb its home.

As of 3/31/2022, Fisher Investments and its subsidiaries manage over $197 billion in assets globally—over $156 billion for private investors, $39 billion for institutional investors and $2 billion for US small to mid-sized business retirement plans.
