A First for LA: High Rise Balcony Pools

Los Angeles-based JMF Development proposed a nearly 60-story condo tower called Fifth and Hill, on a site adjacent to Pershing Square in DTLA. The futuristic plan features cantilevered lap pools, believed to be the first in LA, that will allow many residents to swim high above street level.

The plan submitted to the city includes two options, one with a 55-story tower slated to include 100 condos, 200 hotel rooms and 27,500 square feet of commercial space. The second option is for a 57-story tower with 142 condos and 25,000 square feet of commercial space.

The slender tower is envisioned for a vacant lot next to the 1920’s era Pershing Square Building, which Jeffrey Fish acquired in 2003, and now houses a popular rooftop restaurant, Perch, and a club, Mrs. Fish.
