First Internet Exchange Launched at 100 Taylor Street
H5 Data Centers partnered with Archeo Futurus to launch the first internet exchange at 100 Taylor Street in San Antonio. Known as “SAT-IX,” the exchange is geared toward networks and content providers, in an attempt to reduce latency and transit costs.
H5 Data Centers acquired the 85,000-square-foot 100 Taylor Street in late 2018, with plans to use the facility as a key point of interconnection between Texas, as well as points west (to California) and south (Mexico).
“Starting an internet exchange in San Antonio is a great opportunity for the companies to bring value to the region by offering an affordable and neutral Internet exchange platform,” said Archeo Futurus’ Daniel Kluss. “We look forward to partnering with H5 Data Centers to build a more efficient internet in San Antonio.”
