First Industrial Names Marcus Smith to Board

First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc., headquartered in Chicago, named Marcus L. Smith to its board of directors. He will serve as a member of its investment and nominating/corporate governance committees.

Smith is a director of MCSI Inc., a leading provider of critical decision support tools and services for the global investment community. Most recently he recently the Director of Equity (Canada) and a portfolio manager at MFS Investment Management until his retirement in April 2017.

Matthew S. Dominski, board chairman at First Industrial, said the REIT and its shareholders would benefit from Smith’s “expertise in investing and financial markets, along with his demonstrated leadership in his business and philanthropic endeavors.”

Smith is also a trustee for certain Eaton Vance investment funds. He previously served as a director of DCT Industrial Trust Inc. and as a trustee for the University of Mount Union.
