First Gates Open at LaGuardia’s New Terminal C

The first concourse and gates at Delta Air Lines’ new Terminal C have opened as part of the ongoing $8-billion overhaul of LaGuardia Airport. The seven new gates in the 105,000-square-foot Delta concourse will start serving passengers on Monday, Nov. 4.

This is the second new concourse to open as part of the complete rebuild of LaGuardia, following last December’s unveiling of an 18-gate concourse in Terminal B, which is being developed privately by a consortium known as LaGuardia Gateway Partners. When complete, the new Terminal C will feature 37 gates across four concourses.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo first unveiled the plan for a comprehensive redevelopment of LaGuardia in 2015. Construction began on the project, roughly two-thirds of which is funded through private financing and existing passenger fees, in June 2016.

Delta began construction on the $4-billion replacement of Terminals C and D in August 2017.
