First Four-Star Hotel in Arcadia Opens its Doors
Le Méridien Pasadena Arcadia, the first four-star hotel in Arcadia, recently opened its doors. Developed by SAICP LLC and managed by Pacifica Hotels, the full-service hotel features 232 rooms and suites, a restaurant, a bar lounge, and 14,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces.
Le Méridien Pasadena Arcadia is the first phase of a two-phase project by developer SAICP, incorporating an eight-story mixed-use residential community facing the hotel and consisting of 96 for-sale condominiums and 12,000 square feet of retail. Construction of phase two is expected to start in fourth quarter 2021.
AO is the design architect, architect of record and landscape architect of the hotel and the adjacent residential tower. AO partnered with general contractor Snyder Langston, interior design firm Linda Snyder Associates and civil engineer STANTEC on the project.
“Our objective for Le Méridien’s complex is to create a true mixed-use community that caters to visitors, residents and locals alike, and complements the surrounding neighborhoods,” says Bruce Greenfield, partner at AO. “As Arcadia’s only four-star hotel and tallest residential building, this complex will serve as a new architectural landmark to the city.”
The architecture draws inspiration from the 1934 art-deco Santa Anita Park, with its facade incorporating decorative schemes such as the scallop patterns that are emblematic of the Art Deco movement.
