First citizenM Hotel Opens in Washington D.C.

Dutch lifestyle and hotel company citizenM has opened its first hotel in Washington D.C. The brands DC location will be the fifth hotel in the U.S. and the fourth location on the East Coast, including two in New York and one in Boston.

The 12-story hotel consists of 252 rooms and is located at the meeting point of the Potomac and Anacostia rivers. It is also adjacent to the National Mall and several Smithsonian museums. All rooms at the hotel feature king-size beds, rain showers, free Wi-Fi and free movies. The hotel also features a cloudM rooftop bar, which features signature cocktails and views of the Capitol Building.

The hotel brand has also announced plans for a second D.C. property in the future located in the city’s NoMa district. That location is slated to have 292 rooms. By 2025, citizenM plans to have around 40 properties globally, more than doubling its current portfolio.
