First Big Lease at Renovated 125 W. 25th St.
April 24, 2017
Mohawk Carpet Distribution Inc. signed the first big lease at 125 West 25th St. since the sale of the tower in December 2016. Mohawk will use 11,859 square feet for showrooms and offices.
“The completely renovated building is now state-of-the-art, and adds a dimension to our sales and marketing strategy that is second to none,” said Fred Zebro, regional vice president with Mohawk Group.
The 12-story creative office building was originally constructed in 1906 as a warehouse. Normandy Real Estate Partners had been in the final stages of multi-million-dollar redevelopment when the tower was bought by “AFIAA 125 West 25th Street LLC.”
“After AFIAA acquired 125 West 25th Street, we were able to complete a full-floor transaction with Mohawk within just a few months,” said Mitchell Konsker, vice chairman for JLL, which represented the landlord. CBRE represented the tenant.
