Firefly Aerospace Finds Home in Cedar Park

Firefly Aerospace is on the move. The company recently went public; its stock trading as high as $70 a share. Firefly recently landed a vehicle on the moon and has also secured a $176.7 million NASA contract to deliver multiple rovers to the lunar South Pole in 2029.

Firefly Aerospace won approval from the Cedar Park City Council for up to $1 million in incentives to occupy a 44,000-square-foot building at 2203 Scottsdale Drive that will serve as its regional corporate headquarters. The company plans to invest at least $3.1 million in the site and increase its number of employees to above 500. The company is vacating a smaller facility nearby.

As of February, the company reported having 750 employees across more than 275,000 square feet of space in Cedar Park and Briggs, where its Rocket Ranch facility is located.

Cedar Park, located 20 miles from downtown Austin and with a population of approximately 78,000, is investing heavily in the aerospace industry.
