Fintech Firm Nearly Doubles Space at Durst’s 655 Third

Fintech firm Abacus Group, which provides IT services and cloud computing solutions to the alternative investment industry, is nearly doubling its space at the Durst Organization’s 655 Third Ave. The renewal brings the San Francisco-based firm’s New York City offices to more than 13,000 square feet, up from the 7,015 square feet it has occupied since 2013.

During that five-year period, Abacus’ Manhattan headcount has nearly doubled. “We identified contiguous, off-market space, and were able to create an expansion opportunity that was timed perfectly with Abacus Group’s growth plans,” said Savills Studley’s Zev Holzman, who led a team representing Abacus. The Durst Organization represented itself.

“The landlord will turnkey the space to seamlessly blend into Abacus’s existing offices, creating the perfect home for the company’s expansion,” Holzman added. Construction on the renovations, which will include break-out rooms and a client-focused conference room, is expected to wrap up by year’s end.
