Financial Firm Takes Huge Space at Former Citigroup HQ

Boston Properties (BXP) has signed a long-term lease for more than 300,000 square feet with Millennium Management at 399 Park Ave. The tenant is relocating its headquarters from 666 Fifth Ave., and joins other financial firms that have moved to the former Citigroup headquarters since late 2017.

“Midtown Manhattan continues to be the location of choice for many of the most prominent corporations, and we are delighted that Millennium Management, a world-class global investment management firm, has chosen 399 Park as its principal location,” said John Powers, EVP, New York region at BXP.

The REIT is nearing completion of its renovation program at 399 Park, which it began in early 2016. The 1.7-million-square-foot office property, which commands some of Manhattan’s highest rents, was built in 1961. With the Millennium deal, it’s 93% leased.

BXP did not identify the brokers in the deal.
