Final Four Spurs Additional Alamodome Improvements

The NCAA’s decision to award the 2025 men’s Final Four basketball competition to San Antonio means more improvements in the works for the 25-year-old Alamodome. The city had already unveiled plans for $60 million in improvements for the 65,000-seat arena at 100 Montana St. Local officials have confirmed that additional changes are being planned, as well. The Alamodome had hosted the NCAA’s 2018 Final Four men’s competition.

Going forward, the NCAA wants at least 70 suites in its Final Four venues – the Alamodome currently offers 52. The city is also considering other enhancements, such as escalators. Astrodome General Manager Nick Langella told the San Antonio Business Journal that the cost of dome improvements has not yet been determined.

“We have to have the bells and whistles the NCAA anticipates for their event,” he said. “If we weren’t willing to do that, we would have never gotten this.”
