Fifield Unveils Name for River West Apartments Due This Fall

Fifield Cos. announced the name Westerly for its development at 740 N. Aberdeen St. in River West. Opening this fall, the 11-story building will include 188 apartments, 2,400 square feet of ground-floor retail and a public park. Greystar will manage the property.

“The name Westerly draws inspiration from the building’s location in the quieter, less dense River West neighborhood, which is still close to all the city center has to offer, but far enough away to be a distinctive neighborhood that celebrates both its factory history and a modern, comfortable aesthetic,” said Jon Schneider, SVP at Fifield.

General contractor McHugh Construction continued work on the building throughout the spring—and the pandemic—keeping with the original timeline for delivery.

“Our project team quickly innovated and adapted new protocols on the job site to keep everyone safe while also keeping the project on schedule,” said McHugh’s Ray Cisco.
