Fenway Transformation Adds Johnnies Restaurant Site
The Fenway Corners development around Fenway Park is expanding with a proposed addition to redevelop 96-98 Brookline Ave., currently housing Fenway Johnnies, into office and lab spaces on upper floors, while retaining ground-floor retail or restaurant options, reported on Boston Business Journal.
This forms a fraction of the overall 2.1 million square feet development involving streets including Jersey, Lansdowne, Van Ness, and Brookline Avenue. The redevelopment, expected to be a maximum of 125 feet tall with over 38,000 square feet, is part of a joint venture including WS Development, Fenway Sports Group, and the D’Angelo family.
The BPDA is soliciting public feedback on this proposed change, aiming to transform the Brookline Avenue frontage from Richard B. Ross Way extension to Jersey Street. The anticipated development completion date and impact on Fenway Johnnies remain uncertain.
