Faul Acquires Historic Site in Belltown for Adaptive Re-Use Project

Seattle-based Faul acquired the historic Seattle Labor Temple building at 2800 First Ave. in Belltown. The developer plans an adaptive reuse of the property that will honor and preserve the building’s history while incorporating updates to create a new, full-service insightful workplace.

Faul’s Chris Faul says, “We intend to honor the building’s history while creating a community-focused, multi-use building where talented, creative minds and culture converge to connect professionally and personally.”

The half-block site includes a two-story, 24,270-square-foot building, a three-story, 40,115-square-foot building and 102-stall parking garage.

Built in 1942 during the Seattle labor movement, the building’s exterior facades, with its noted green Art Deco terra-cotta character elements, and the interior lobby spaces were historically landmarked in 2010.

Beyond exterior preservation, plans include updated building systems and a new elevator. Office suites will be refreshed, and the building will offer new conference rooms, bike room with showers and lockers, a podcast room and gathering spaces.
