Fate Therapeutics Inks 200K-SF HQ Deal at Scripps Life Science Campus

Dart Interests LLC (Scripps Summit Investments LLC) signed a roughly 200,000-square-foot lease with Fate Therapeutics for the Scripps Northridge Corporate Center in San Diego. The life science campus is located on 20 acres at 12278 Scripps Summit Dr.

Fate Therapeutics will be using the campus for its corporate headquarters, which is expected to include a 40,000-square-foot GMP manufacturing facility. The property underwent a $50 million renovation in 2014, transforming the office building into a state-of-the-art life sciences complex. Dart Interests will contribute $30 million toward additional campus improvements.

The tenant was represented by Craig Knox of Hughes Marino. JLL’s Chad Urie, Grant Schoneman and Jay Alexander advised the landlord.

Dart Interests’ Randall Tuller says, “The property became available for lease in 2018 after Dart Neuroscience ceased active research operations at its San Diego campus. We are extremely pleased to be working with Fate Therapeutics to further improve this special property to serve as the company’s new headquarters.”
