Gordon Food Service put up its first Houston grocery store in 2023 and has now opened its ninth Houston-area store.

Gordon Restaurant Market recently opened at 4519 Griggs Road, serving local restaurants, food operations and the public. Located inside Loop 610, the new store is near Cullen Boulevard and Old Spanish Trail.

The store, which reflects Gordon Restaurant Market’s latest branding, is primarily designed to provide food products to restaurant owners and food service customers but also features goods for home shoppers. The assortment includes packaged and fresh produce, meats by the piece, pound or case, rotisserie and fried chicken, ribs, gourmet popcorn and pantry staples such as oil, sugar, rice and paper products. The layout has walk-in coolers with cases of meats, cheese and seasonal produce.

The store has just over 28,000 square feet, including 15,000 square feet on the sales floor.

Started in the late 1800s, the company operates more than 180 Gordon Food Service Stores in the U.S.
