Fast-Casual Chain Freddy’s Inks Lease for First NJ Location

Fast-casual restaurant Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will be opening its first New Jersey location in July in Linden. The Wichita, KS-based chain has committed to a pad lease for its 3,200-square-foot prototypical building and double drive thru at Cypress Development’s Legacy Square, a newly developed open air shopping center at 1000 W. Edgar Rd.

The CBRE retail team of Steven Winters, Mike Horne and Nicole Nannola represented the Freddy’s Northern New Jersey franchisee. The Linden location will also be the first in the New York City metro area.

Founded in 2002, Freddy’s opened its first location in Wichita. The brand was acquired by private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners in March of 2021. Today, there are more than 400 Freddy’s restaurants nationwide in 32 states, with the state count increasing to 33 as the Linden store opens.
