Walsh Ranch Underway in Fort Worth

Dirt work has begun on Walsh Ranch on the very far west side of the Fort Worth, TX area. Developers have so far scraped land on the housing development, which could end up being home base for 50,000 people.

The 7,267-acre property, held by the Walsh family since the 1930s, is approximately 20 miles west of Fort Worth, where Interstates 20 and 30 meet. The first phase of the development will consist of 580 home lots, with builders constructing model homes by the end of the year. About 770 acres has been designated for commercial development, including a corporate campus and town center. Approximately 2,300 acres are being set aside for green space.

Republic Property Group is teaming with the Walsh family to develop the site, which could take up to 50 years to fully build out.
