Falvez Energy Targeting Panhandle for 163-MW Wind Farm

Washington, DC-headquartered Falvez Energy has targeted Randall, Castro and Deaf Smith Counties in the Texas Panhandle for its first utility scale wind project. To that end, GE Energy Financial Services provided the construction financing to build the 163-megawatt wind farm. Additionally, GE Energy and BNP Paribas SA are each providing 50% of the long-term tax equity for the project.

The location, approximately 30 miles south of Amarillo, is on approximately 11,000 acres of ranchland and farmland. It is in the western part of Texas’ Competitive Renewable Energy Zone. This provides renewable energy produced in West Texas, with access to major transmission lines that serve cities further east including Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
