Fairfax Approves Residential Rezoning in Tysons
Fairfax County’s Board of Supervisors approved the rezoning for a 23-story residential tower in Tysons’ Arbor Row, replacing a previously approved office building, Washington Business Journal reported. The decision, passed with an 8-1-1 vote despite county staff objections, allows for the construction of up to 240 apartments and 8,500 square feet of retail space at 7925 Westpark Drive. Originally, a 13-story office building with 12,500 square feet of retail was planned for the site.
Cityline Partners, with Bethesda-based Renaissance Centro under contract, spearheaded the office-to-residential pivot. Renaissance Centro plans to start construction within 18 months, pending site plan approval. The Arbor Row area, once home to 1970s-era office buildings, is now evolving into a mixed-use development near Tysons Galleria and Tysons Metro station.
