Facebook’s Willow Village Plan Takes Shape in Menlo Park

Facebook pulled the wraps off the latest incarnation of Willow Village, the social media giant’s 59-acre mixed use development in Menlo Park, CA. The proposed development includes a mix of office, residential and retail uses.

The new campus is designed to accommodate an additional 9,500 workers. That would boost Facebook’s employee count to 35,000 east of Highway 101, once all the new facilities are built, nearly equal Menlo Park’s population of 35,670.

Willow Village is planned to be developed in four phases, with initial offices slated for occupancy by 2021 and the balance by 2025. The site on Bayfront Expressway and O’Brien is planned to include 1.75 million square feet of offices, a minimum of 1,500 housing units, 126,500 square feet of retail, 200 hotel rooms and 18 acres of open space. The project will also have roughly 5,300 parking spaces and a cultural/visitor center.
