Facebook Takes More Than 200K SF from WeWork in Mountain View

Connect Bay Area is coming up May 17th. Here is where to get more information and register.

Menlo Park, CA-based Facebook leased more than 200,000 square feet at The Village at San Antonio Station from WeWork in Mountain View, CA. The building is located at 401 San Antonio Road, and is part of a project WeWork Enterprise took over from LinkedIn last year. This operating unit at WeWork focuses on corporate end users and office solutions for teams of any size, and is part of a strategy to transition away from being a co-working space company.

A spokesperson for the social media company confirmed the deal, indicating it “secured temporary office space … from WeWork. This new space, with its proximity to our headquarters in Menlo Park, will support part of our growing workforce.” The 56-acre mixed-use project contains two, six-story buildings and is being developed by San Francisco-based Merlone Geier.

Facebook expansion plans also include the last three, under-construction buildings encompassing roughly one million square feet of space in Jay Paul’s Moffett Towers II development in Sunnyvale, CA.
