Facebook Fort Worth Campus to Get Even Bigger

In May 2017, the Facebook Fort Worth campus underwent a grand opening for its two-building data center in AllianceTexas. Now, local media sources report that Facebook filed building permits to develop two more data center halls at the Fort Worth location, at SH 170. The construction permits for the space total more than $365 million. The first centers came online in May 2017.

Upon buildout, the 150-acre campus is expected to be valued at more than $1 billion, and will be the largest concentration of computing power in Texas. In addition to containing acres of computers servers, the site also has equipment needed to keep those servers powered and cooled, 24/7/365. According to Facebook’s Tom Furling the North Fort Worth center is the largest the company has built.
